Happy Birthday Woman!

Today is Woman's birthday! Happy Birthday Woman! I didn't get you a present, because I don't have any money, but I promise to snuggle with you later and *try* not to step on your guts.

We went to the beach this weekend, and when we got home, Woman had a birthday present waiting at the door for her!! It was sitting there patiently waiting for Woman to get home, but she didn't open it last night since it wasn't her birthday yet. She opened it this morning instead!

It was from Page and Rob (and Winston, Sela and Boo Kitty should probably get a little mention too.)

Check out the loot!

birthday presents!

Woman loves it all, especially the tea and awesome teacup steeper, but especially the succulent candle that she can't kill! Thanks Page & Co.!

The best part of the present was the card, because Woman found it so amusing. Here it is for your viewing pleasure.

Happy Birthday Woman! Don't work too hard today!

Birthday Beaches

Woman and two of her lady friends all have birthdays around the same time. Jane's birthday was yesterday, Margarita's birthday is tomorrow, and Woman's is Monday. (Jane and Woman are only 5 days apart in age. Pretty cool, eh?) So anyway, Margarita decided she wanted to go to the beach this year for her birthday, and since Nate's family owns a beach house on the coast of NC, we're packing up and heading out! Big Girl Sara is coming too! I bet Margarita didn't know she had to share her birthday weekend when she made those plans! LOL!

So, we'll be at the beach this weekend. With a bunch of ... ladies ... Yeah. Buddy and Nantucket will be there too. They're both Labs, but I don't mind. I'll steal toys from any kind of dog!

More Yard Work

I will be really happy when all this yard work is finished. The People worked in the yard for 5 hours this weekend, and I had to watch! Woman ties me up to a post so I can't roam the neighborhood and makes me bear witness to the digging and such. People are so strange. And then, I wasn't allowed to poop in it! I don't know what all this digging is for if not to make me a more efficient bathroom in the front yard. Geesh.

Easter Dinner

We had Easter Dinner with some of our neighborhood friends on Sunday evening. I guess it was fun for the People, but it was not all that enjoyable for me. There were lots of little kids there, and they pulled on my tail and chased me around. They tried to pick me up, and the little one wanted to ride me! Geesh. The People left me at home, and then came and got me later in the night. If I'd have known what I was in for, I would have stayed at home. Good thing I pooped in the plant room before the People came and got me. I guess I was anticipating my bad night and wanted them to pay! I was paying it forward - LOL!

I hope you all had a better Easter than me!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from all us Spring Flowers. (I'm no spring chicken any more, you know?)

This is not the most humiliating situation I have been placed in.

I shall crouch behind this tulip to hide my shame.

I hope you all have a costume-free Easter with plenty of good eats and fun! Woman wants me to remind you to not forget about Jesus. OK? Cool.

Licker

Peanuts is really into licking people and Pugs.

Look at that snake-like tongue darting out to catch me in the ear.

Gross.

Here she is gearing up to put the lick to Woman.

My New Aunt

What up People? This is my "What Up" face. You can post your own "What Up" face if you'd like - let's call it a Meme. I tag AM, Punchy and Nevis to post their "What Up" faces.

norman asking what up

I have a new Aunt! We pronounce the word, "Aunt" like "ant." That's right - we're hicks. Many of you pronounce it like you would the word "taunt" but we're not that distinguished - are you British or something? So when you read this, regardless of how distinguished you may be, just know that it's pronounced "ant" in my world and for the duration of this post.

So, Gammy got a new dog who is technically my Aunt! Her name is Peanuts, and she's some sort of hybrid dog - you know, like the Toyota Prius! She gets better mileage than regular dogs, and she qualifies for a tax deduction. Oh, I forgot. We're not allowed to say the word "tax" in our house right now - touchy subject.

Without further delay, here is my new Auntie ...

She and I are different in many ways.

First, she has spots on her belly.

underside of peanuts

Secondly, she has a very straight tail that wags A LOT!

norman and peanuts compare tails

And finally, she has a giant face thingy. Look at it, jutting out there like some sort of cliff or something.

norman and peanuts

We do have some things in common though.

First, she loves to snuggle up in a lap.

peanuts in tammy's lap

Secondly, she will never be a Frenchie no matter how long Woman holds her ears up like this.

tammy makes peanuts a frenchie

And last but not least, she loves to play fetch.

But she'll never be able to beat me! I am the King of Fetch!!

norman wins!

In case you're wondering, I did get REALLY jealous of Woman giving Peanuts so much attention, so I had to seek out my lovin' elsewhere.

I got a little bit of butt rubbing from John ...

Made Peanuts jealous by snuggling the Gammy ...

And got some tension from Uncle Michael, although I think he only gave me some tension so he could get his photo on my blog. He's a groupie you know.

Peanuts and I got along for the most part. We're cool with each other, as you can see depicted in this yin yang photo. I call YANG!

The Best Pug

After being looked over by Mr. Chris as Best Man in his wedding two years ago, I thought my special day of tending a lucky husband-to-be would never arrive. But then Woman got a call on Sunday night from a neighbor asking me to serve as Best Man in a wedding!

Pugsley and Junebug are getting married! Won't this Big Man look great in a tuxedo?

pugsley

And dainty little Junebug will be a lovely May Bride.

At first I was kind of weirded out that they were getting married, because I thought they were siblings, but Woman explained that they are not really related. They just live together - gasp!

The wedding is on Ian's birthday, but he said we can go anyway! Isn't that nice of him? I have to deliver a toast! I'll have to ask Woman to help me, because I don't know where we keep the toaster, and I can't reach the bread. We're probably going to need some more bread!

Mardi Gras Party Food!

Did I already do a Mardi Gras Party post? I can't remember if I have or not. Well, if I have, I probably didn't talk about the FOOD!

Look at this gumbo Ian made! Is that a crab claw sticking out of it? Yes, I think it is!

gumbo!

And Lauren made this yummy King Cake!

There was a baby hidden in it, and Kari found the baby, so she gets to host the next Mardi Gras party!

I like pink taffeta. Don't judge me! Do you like my collar? Punchy made it for me!

norman loves pink satin

She also made Sela's dress. Pretty, eh?

Here I am with my People. Please don't stare at my nethers.

The Pugs were of course the most important part of the night.

Birthday Mail!

First, here is my annual birthday photo with the forsythia bush. It has been raining non-stop, so we haven't been able to take the photo until recently.

norman's 8th birthday

Now, moving on to the good stuff! I got a package last week for my birthday from my good friends Winston and Sela! Well, actually the package was probably from Rob and Page since Winston and Sela wouldn't actually send me anything. LOL!

There was a card in the package!

opening presents

But I wasn't interested in reading it. I just wanted the PRESENTS, and I know boxes always come bearing gifts!!

opening presents

After finishing reading the card, Woman let me dig into the box! The photos are blurry, because I was really excited and moved around a lot.

opening presents

Check me out with a new toy!

opening presents

And another new toy! Hootie and Kitty are going to be JEALOUS!

opening presents

And some cookies! Oh yum!

opening presents

Woman let me pick a cookie out all on my own!

norman wants a cookie

I hid it in my blanket for safekeeping. After seeing Woman take a bite out of one, I figured I needed to keep them away from her! She says they're yummy by the way. Actually, I haven't had one since then. I better check on them to make sure Woman hasn't eaten them all!

hiding a treat

Thanks so much for my presents Page and Rob! And thanks to Winston and Sela for not stealing them while your Woman was wrapping them!

April Showers ...

... bring angry Pugs!

I wish it would stop raining so I could go downtown for my birthday bash!

Do you know Woman left me on my birthday and went to Atlanta? Apparently there was a big Les Mills event she HAD to attend. Why I could not come is beyond me. I have been to Atlanta, so I know puggies are allowed there!! This has not been the best birthday ever.
