Black Booty Gang

That's right - I'm in a gang now. I was in the Ladies' White Athletic Gym Sock gang, but I was too hard core for that gang and joined the Black Booty Gang instead. We all go around with one black booty firmly secured with packing tape to our back left foot. Membership is free, and we serve red punch at our weekly meetings. The booty also keeps you from tearing up your stitches, which by the way, I had taken out today. The Woman says I only get to be a Black Booty Gang member until my wound heals over. That's cool. I'm sure I'll be ready to move on to some other organization by then.

High Maintenance Dog

As of today, I am a high maintenance dog. I used to be really low maintenance - well, when it came to eating at least. I got one bowl of food a day and usually two bowls of water. Sometimes the Woman would sneak me a piece of pear or apple or something like that, but for the most part, I was a straight out food and water kind of dog. Today all that changed. Now, I am on the Dr. Budwig diet of cottage cheese and flaxseed oil. I also get lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and powdered vitamin C. The Woman found a lot of information on holistic healing, and she's experimenting on me, the guinea pug.

The Woman blends up 1/4 cup organic low-fat cottage cheese and 1 tbsp flaxseed oil, and cuts me up some fresh fruits and veggies, and I eat it. She hasn't been able to get the powdered vitamin C down my gullet yet, but I know she'll keep trying until she finds some way in. Here is a link with more info on the Dr. Budwig lady if you're interested. The diet is not just for dogs, and it doesn't taste all that bad. Note that you do have to blend it up for the oil to bond with the cottage cheese. Yeah, that's a new age kind of comment. What can I say - cancer changes you, ok?

It is a Tumor

I ended up having my lump removed last Wednesday, because it was still there when the scab fell off - gross, I know. Anyway, the Vet was very reassuring that it was just precautionary to have it removed and confident that it wasn't cancer. Well, we got the results back today, and it is cancer - a Mast Cell Tumor to be exact. She said it's grade 1 with well-defined margins and no cancer around the lump, so she isn't recommending any further treatment. The Woman is a mess though. We are going to talk to the Vet about vitamin C therapy when I get my stitches taken out Monday. If anyone has any other advice, please leave it in the comment section or send me an email.

On another note, I have three really awesome stitches! They shaved a big spot on my shoulder, and now I'm bald there. I have been looking around for a make-shift toupee, but nothing seems to match all that well. The Woman's blanket she just got for her birthday was the closest match, but she really likes it, so I will spare it the scissors treatment. I guess my hair will grow back soon enough. I was hoping to get a tattoo or something, but The Woman said they don't do that sort of thing at the Vet.

Stitches are really really itchy. I have been trying not to scratch, but sometimes it's unbearable. I have a little raw spot above my stitches from where I am itching myself. I can't actually hit the stitches with my paw. Doh!
