Dog Car Restraint

Hey Blogger peoples! Woman is wondering if anyone out there uses a "restraint" for their Pug in the car. She's looking for something that will keep me in one spot so I don't mess up the seats or slobber all over the windows. I have been riding in a cage, but I hate it, so we're looking at other options. We're leaving Saturday, so please give us your suggestions quickly!!

Norman, my mom got this for her Yorkie and he loves it. Maybe you will too!

Sorry, can't help you. I insist on riding in the passenger seat (with or without a human present) without any restraints. My parents tried to put me in a pet carrier once in the car but I chewed and scratched it until I broke free!

I bought some seat belts at Pet Smart...but I have a feeling that Norman is not going to like being restrained whether it's a cage or a seat belt! Woman needs to ride in the back with him!

well, pugs now travel in their crates and are fine (nothing a little benadryl can't fix) but I used to have a clip thingy that attached to Winston's harness and also attached to the seatbelt and that worked well for just him. Especially if you put a bed in the backseat for him to sit. Good luck!! Mwhahahahah!!!

We use clippy things like Winston that attach to the seatbelt and hook onto our harnesses. I have heard too many stories about people having wrecks and their dogs running off. Plus Daisy and Oscar feel they need to be in the front seat, or in my lap, which is way distracting!

Hi, I usually read your blog but have never written. However, I have a great harness that has a loop for the seatbelt. Beulah (my pug) stays in the passenger seat but she has some freedom to move a bit (as far as she can pull the seatbelt) and stand to look out the window. This is the URL:

Hi Norman; I use the "3-in-1 Vest Harness" by Canine Friendly http://www.rcpets.com/friendly_product.php?cid=44
Mom and Dad like it because it makes them feel good that I am safe and I like it too. It's mighty comfy! XOXO Peanut
