Celebrity Souvenirs

When most people go on vacation, they bring back some type of souvenir to commemorate the experience. Maybe they'll buy a t-shirt touting the name of the city they visited, a shot glass from a chain restaurant like the Hard Rock Cafe, a food item like a Caribbean rum cake, or a coffee mug with some reminiscent scene or slogan on it. These are all normal souvenirs, but as everyone knows celebrities are not normal, and this abnormality is even more evident in their choice of souvenirs. You would expect celebrities to bring back bigger and more memorable souvenirs than average people, because they have more money, and quite frankly, they visit more exciting places. But, Angelina Jolie has really crossed the line from bigger and better into just plain odd. It seems that Ms. Jolie collects children from the countries she visits. She has one from Cambodia, one from Ethiopia, and she is in the process of adding one from Vietnam. Since her only "birth" child was born in Namibia, she won't need to get a baby from there, but perhaps Shiloh can wear a "Namibia - Where Babies are Made" t-shirt so everyone knows which country she is representing in the souvenir collection. (Maybe she doesn't have to wear it all the time, but at least when guests are over.) Being a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, it is only a matter of time before she has the complete "Babies Around the World" collection. I bet in the end, she'll wish she had gone for the collector plates instead.

On a similar note, Madonna seems to have felt left out of the souvenir craze and has commissioned her own little bundle of joy from Malawi. I have to wonder if Madonna has actually visited this country though, since it seems a little unrefined for her taste. (I am also a little disappointed in her, because she is usually a leader in trends and not a follower.)

**As a side note and possible disclaimer, the Woman absolutely LOVES Angelina Jolie, so please take this as satire, and not as a jab at Ms. Jolie.
