No Princesses for this Girl

Elena is five. Most five-year-old girls like to play dress up and prance about in princess costumes while daydreaming about fairies. Not Elena. Elena likes pirates. Elena likes snakes. Elena likes superheroes.

Elena's lack of interest in all things princess baffles Woman. Magic Kingdom offers a new service inside Cinderella's castle, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. The designers who work at this new boutique dress young girls up like their favorite princesses - they even glitter up your hair and do your make-up all Disney princess-style. Elena wanted no part of this. Woman was a little jealous. She wanted to be all glittered up. She felt that Elena should at least allow her to live vicariously through her, but Elena was busy playing with her snake. The boutique services "girls" 3 and up, but Woman felt that 32 was a little too much "and up" for her to be able to get "serviced" at this boutique. Bah.

The cool thing about a non-girly girl is that they aren't afraid to get dirty.

And they'll pose in silly positions for the sake of a funny photo opportunity.

Elena was allowed to do a little shopping at each of the parks she visited. The only rule was that whatever she bought must be smaller than her - LOL. Her first purchase was a wooden chest from the Pirate's of the Caribbean ride that she filled with "treasure" such as bugs, eyeballs and other trinkets made from jelly. Woman tried to tempt her with a pink Mickey Mouse hat embroidered with her name, but she had no interest in it. Her second purchase was a kitty cat webkin. At Animal Kingdom she purchased a snake webkin and a little Mickey Mouse stuffed toy dressed in safari garb. I'm sure these are not your average 5-year-old girl purchases! She is definitely a unique child!

Okay, I swear I do not blog stalk you, but this is the third time I'm the first to comment! Weird! (Oh, and do I win anything?? ;)
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a little girl like Elena since I'm so looking forward to dressing up a little girl one day! LOL! I was the same way she was as a child...she looks absolutely adorable in those pics!

That is very cute about Elena. Unique is good. Sounds like a lot of fun.

That boutique sounds fun, but expensive. It's funny, boys only pay $10!!
