The Peoples' Vacation
Woman is still really swamped with work, but I have wrestled the computer away from her to make a post about their vacation. This is going to be a pretty quick post with some photos, but I'll be sure to make more in depth posts throughout the week.
The People left Saturday morning for Orlando. The plan was to do Disney parks Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, then travel to Keystone to visit with Ian's grandparents on Wednesday, and return home on Thursday. The Peoples' friends the Rubles (their friends from Mobile) were going to meet them in Orlando on Sunday night for their own family vacation. The whole trip went perfectly according to plan, and the people had a great time. The People say this is the perfect week to visit the Disney parks - the week before Memorial Day weekend. The lines were VERY short, and the crowds light.
Saturday was pretty uneventful. The People left around 8:30am and got to Orlando around 6pm. Yep, they drove. They checked into their hotel and hung out in the pool area for most of the night. Yes, the People stayed at the Nickelodeon Hotel! This is where their friends (who do have a child) were staying, so they decided to stay there too. Woman loved the hotel. It was swarming with kids, but she said the rooms were great and the two huge pool areas with 4 waterslides were off the hook. She says she will stay there again in the future. Be warned though that you get weird looks when you stay there without children and it's VERY noisy on Saturday night. If you're looking for a more quiet room, ask for one on the top floor with a parking lot view.
Sunday the People went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. The first ride they rode at Animal Kingdom was the new Everest rollercoaster. Woman said it was pretty much awesome.
Woman loves having her photo taken with the Disney characters, but she will not wait in long lines to get a photo.
Donald did not want to let go of Woman. She started to freak out a little bit.
The People made it to Magic Kingdom in time to see the parade.
It was so hot that Tigger whizzed on the crowd. OK, not really, but doesn't this picture look suspicous?
They rode some rides and had a good time.
Monday the People met up with the Rubles and went back to Magic Kingdom and then Epcot.
Tuesday the People and the Rubles went to Animal Kingdom and then back to Epcot. Woman and Jody got really sick on Mission Space at Epcot and they had to go back to the hotel sooner than planned. LOL!

Woman said it was pretty awesome, because the grandparents would take Elena home when she got fussy, and the parents and my People got to stay at the park as late as they wanted! Hooray for grandparents!
Wednesday morning the People left Orlando and went to Keystone to visit with Ian's grandparents. They ate some home grown garden fresh corn, enjoyed some pistachio dessert and talked about gardening.
The People left for home on Thursday morning and made it back by dinner time to snuggle with me!
This was the quick review of their trip, but I will make some more posts later on in the week and give you some more photos and better details. Stay tuned!

Sound like the People had a great time . . . but I hope they brought something back for you, Norman! After all, you were guarding the house and Big girl Sarah!

That Tigger photo just looks wrong. All wrong.
If we ever go (and OF COURSE WE WILL) to Disney with the kids, we too plan to bring the grandparents for occassional babysitting duty. :)

That sounds like a lot of fun. If you are a human. Mom & PlusOne loved Animal Kingdom. Mom is chicken though, so she did not do the Everest ride. We are glad Woman and Ian had so much fun, but we are more glad that they came home to you.

Oh FUN, I LOVE Disney World! I am so glad you had a good time. I agree, Expedition Everest ROCKS, and a member of our party got sick on Mission:Space also.

AWESOME, Norman's woman. Me and Terry are going to WDW and it's parks this summer. Actully in July, in like...38 days. No...I'm not counting...

What a wonderful vacation! I'm loving all the pictures and the tour of Disney sites. That little Elena is a doll, too.
